Since 2012, the Veterans Race presented by Destination Races and sponsored by GEICO has been honoring all who served and currently serving in our military.  Our goal is to raise $15,000 to support local veteran organizations support services. This year, we are proud to host the race with Veterans One-Stop Center and Buffalo Naval Park.  Proceeds will benefit these two groups to PRESERVE. PROTECT. HONOR all who served.


Civilian:            $27 until Oct. 31 

                       $30 Nov.1

Active/Veterans: $22 everyday

Deployed "virtual": $22 

The 5K race is open to all, civilian or military, with special awards for top overall in each class. Run in honor of a veteran or as a military group. The race will be CAPPED at 250 total participants on a flat course through Buffalo's Naval and Military Park.

There will be 5 events with 50 people maximum. 

The Post Race Party for 2020 is cancelled but runners will receive a hot meal To-Go featuring Pizza Logs and Crunch Rolls along with more food.

EVENT TIMES: 9AM, 10, 11, 12, & 1PM

Runners will be given an event time based on predicted finish time. Maximum of 50 runners per event. Each event will start at the top of the hour.  Runners CANNOT switch event times. 





  • NO paper registration forms.

  • NO race day registration.

  • MASKS REQUIRED at Check In, Before race and after.

  • There will be 5 events:

    • Alpha (ELITES) 

    • Bravo (Veterans)

    • Charlie (open) 

    • Delta (open) 

    • Echo (Family).

  • Virtual / Remote Runners: sign up as "Deployed"

  • To comply with County Health mandates, each event will be 60 minutes apart.  If you are running with a friend, enter the slower of the predicted times.  There are NO EVENT CHANGES or bumping because we have to control the crowd. We cannot permit more than 50 people per EVENT.

  • All runners will receive swag, a medal, a warm meal and water upon completion. 

  • Awards will be mailed out: 3 Male & 3 Female per EVENT.  Times will be uploaded by 5PM on November 7th. 

  • No water on course

COVID-19 UPDATE: All participants must wear a mask to check-in and after the race.  No post race tailgating.  Spectators are not allowed inside Templeton Landing.  Please read the waiver entirely during the registration process. Athletes, Spectators and Volunteers SHALL NOT participate in the event if they have been exposed to or have symptoms of COVID-19.  Also, by participating in this event, you acknowledge that you may be putting yourself at risk of contracting the virus and will not hold the race, it's organizers, beneficiaries, City of Buffalo, County of Erie or others accountable. 

The Race will follow all USATF & Government / Local Rules regarding events and COVID-19 in an effort to protect all who attend.
